Today I have the great pleasure of speaking with Alice Molter-Serrano, a Psychic Medium in Sedona, Arizona - one of my favorite places!
Alice has quite the story about how she got to where she is today, but i'll let her tell you about that!
That being said, let's get started! Alice, thank you SO much for taking time out of your busy schedule to chat with me today!
Tell us about yourself please!
I am Alice Molter-Serrano, You know that old saying you can take the girl out of the country but you cannot take the country out of the girl. That would be me. I now live in Sedona Arizona but born on a farm outside Orangeville Il. I dreamed of being an actress and did become one six years after my brother died at the age of 27 of cancer.
Greg woke me from a nightmare 3 days after his death. There he stood in his ghostly light smiling down on me. And just like that he was gone. The room then became full of what I now understand is the 5th element. He had let me see into the other side. and I laid in my bed being bathed in this substance so thick you could cut it with a knife. I felt complete peace, love, compassion,and calm. I was only 19. I told no one of this for ten years. I NOW am a psychic and a medium. In the last fifteen years I have done over 5000 readings in person and over the phone.
When did you first realize you had special abilities?
I always knew there was something different about me but I ignored it because all I wanted was to be in theater. In 1983 after acting and directing in Chicago I decided I did not want to go East nor West to continue my career . Instead I wanted to use my skills to work with Teens.
I wrote proposals about using theater as a kind of therapy tool. I was hired by a social service agency working in high schools alongside therapists.. Then an Adolescent Psychiatric hospital heard of my work and asked me to work part time with them. It was an MSW social worker who first told me I had a gift. She told me one day.."I cannot supervise you like everyone else. You are not doing the work from your mind you are doing it from there...(and she points to the sky). You are always five steps ahead of the kids."
When did you know that it was your calling, and what inspired you to start your business?
1993 two years after moving to Sedona I became pregnant with my daughter. We had named her when we were naming our son when I was pregnant with him. My husband said we were going to have a daughter and wanted to name her after a quality people told me I possessed. Hope.
Hope was born and died about ten minutes after birth. Six years after her birth I was hearing in my head things that I would be doing. I was told "they will just come to your door" "Keep your eye on the light" "Listen to only me not the world" And I began to hear and see loved ones around other people. I was reluctant to take this on. I was working with teens at the time and one day I heard, in my head, a woman telling me about the girl I was with.
I asked the girl if her grandma's name was Maria. yes, she told me. and it went on from there. She was excited and wanted to know more. I told her I was at work and not a good idea. I told her to ask her mother if it would be ok. The next day a woman came and knocked on my office door. I opened it and she said....How much for a reading? I was shocked. I said, "I do not do readings." and then I remembered what they told me. THEY WILL COME TO YOUR DOOR. That was my first reading 16 years ago.
What is the most popular type of reading with customers?
Speaking to loved ones who have passed over.
What is the hardest or most difficult part in being a spiritual medium?
Knowing time zones around the world. No, really, I believe the most difficult part is getting people to understand how it all works. That they themselves have a big part in the reading. I am only a communicator, they are the ones connected to the loved one. They and we all can have a relationship with our departed loved ones if we learn to listen and know they are alive in spirit.
How have things changed for you during the pandemic, and how have you adjusted?
I was warned in a meditation something was coming. I heard a sound like a hurricane coming and then there was a force like wind.
I felt myself rooted like a tree to the ground. I heard a voice say..."Stand tall and you will not be touched. You must not leave the house."
I came out of it shocked. This was January of 2020 before the public knew Covid had begun. I stopped seeing clients and stayed at home all year. I only left the house two times during 2020.
I did all my readings over the phone. I began a zoom group and found my readings were less about those dying but about how my clients were to live. This year it has returned to one mediumship reading after the next. People who didn't get to say goodbye to loved ones.
What do you love the most about what you do?
I can give Hope to those who have given up, in deep grief or do not know who they are and that we all go on after death.
Any final words of wisdom or parting thoughts for our readers in these trying times?
Know that all there is is unconditional love. There is no true death, only the shedding of the heavy body, matter, for a light body in a place of light and tranquility It is us who turn from love. Heaven is here right now and if we all knew this we could live in the body forever.
