Dan has been reading tarot cards for over 40 years, and been a reiki master for 25 years. But he really likes to help people with his magical awakenings, which I'll ask about below!

Dan, thank you SO very much for taking time out of your busy day to chat with me!
Can you please introduce yourself to our readers?
I have been a Reiki Master for 25 years and have helped many people with their healing and also taught many people who wanted to learn about it. I have been reading tarot cards for people for more than 40 years.
I also offer other services: spiritual counseling, dream interpretation, past lives, working with spirit guides, numerology, runes, guided meditations, drumming, and I do house blessings. I am self employed and work from a home office.
I'll start with the obvious question first, what exactly are Magical Awakenings?
Magical awakenings happen when a person comes to a realization that there are techniques they can use to make their life work better.
That can happen with insights they gain from the services I offer or the energy clearing and healing that I can do for them. A person can awaken to a different way of seeing and being in the world. A person can learn more ways to get what they want out of life.
When did you know that it was your calling, and what inspired you to start your business?
Curiosity led me to learn these things. When I heard about something or experienced something that I found interesting, my mind would want to know more about it. I would try it to see what it did for me and how it worked, and then I would proceed to learn and practice these things.
Some things I taught myself, and some things I learned from teachers. For many years, I regarded these things as experiments or hobbies while I earned my living working for corporations and other people's companies.
Eventually, I decided that I would rather work for myself. I had been doing my work evenings and weekends, but finally I quit working for others and put all my energy into making this my full time way of living and earning a living.
What is the most popular type of reading or consultation with customers?
Reiki healing, spiritual guidance and tarot reading are services people ask for most.
How have things changed for you during the pandemic, and how have you adjusted?
When covid hit, it wiped out all my public events and for a while people were afraid to make appointments. I did some work via Zoom, Skype or phone, but some people always did prefer seeing me in person, and eventually they got tired of staying home and doing everything on the computer. Some aspects of the business have yet to recover.
Throughout this troubling time, I offered those who are facing financial difficulties the opportunity to name their own price that would fit their budget so that they could afford to see me and get some help. Those who were in good shape paid my regular rates. I stayed healthy all year and never had covid, and now I am vaccinated and business is bouncing back.
Are some readings or sessions more draining or demanding than others?
Yes, some sessions are more draining than others because some people have more difficulties to deal with and need more help to turn things around.
What do you love the most about what you do?
What inspires me the most is the feedback I get from clients. It is very rewarding and life affirming when people leave my office telling me that they feel better and that I really helped them.
I have hundreds of 5 star reviews from previous clients. Every day that happens, and it gives me good feelings about the work I do. I will do this for the rest of my life.
Any parting words of advice for our readers in these difficult times?
If you need help, ask. Just like massage is now commonly accepted and used by many people, so is reiki and my other services.
More people have heard of it and tried it. For example, hospitals have encouraged nurses to learn reiki and use it along with their nursing skills. And I have taught it to nurses, massage therapists, caregivers and other healing professionals.
